Photo Therapy Treatment

Colour therapy uses the same points as in acupuncture but only in a non-invasive, effective and pain free way for treatment. The seven colours of light are used logically and effectively on the acupuncture points to harmonise the bio-energy flowing through the body in 14 channels..Photo Therapy Treatment Cost may vary on places location

Torch is used as the source of light and desired colour filter is used to get the desired colour. The resulting coloured light is passed through a crystal with the tip of a prism, which touches the skin on some special zones and specific acupuncture points.

While many treatments reduce the overall immune system, UV light can be used to reduce the local immune system in the skin. In conditions such as psoriasis, light therapy can also slow the growth of thick, scaly skin. UV light therapy is used in vitiligo for its added ability to stimulate melanocytes, the pigment-producing cells of the skin. This makes phototherapy a great treatment option for anyone—especially those who don't like creams, those who want natural remedies, steroid-free treatments, and those who want extra control using a combination of treatments. Phototherapy is also a good option for children and women during pregnancy.

Types of Phototherapy

1:Sunlight--Too many direct rays from the sun can make your symptoms worse and increase your chances of getting skin cancer. If your doctor tells you to get some sunlight every day, about 20 minutes a day should be enough. Use a sunscreen with zinc oxide and an SPF of 30 or higher on areas of your skin that don't have psoriasis.

2:UVB (ultraviolet B)--  Your doctor can treat you with UVB rays from a phototherapy machine in their office. You can also get one to use at home. But the lamps can give off ultraviolet A (UVA) rays. Both UVA and UVB rays are linked to skin cancer. Talk to your doctor about how to protect yourself from the cancer risk while being treated.

There are 2 main types of UVB treatments:

·         UVB broadband--Your medical services supplier might utilize it to treat single patches, boundless psoriasis, and psoriasis that doesn't improve with skin therapies. Temporarily, aftereffects could incorporate redness, tingling, and dry skin. Saturating consistently can assist with facilitating your distress.

·         UVB narrowband-- Many scientists and doctors think this type of UVB is more effective than broadband. But you may notice more serious burns from the treatments that last longer.  Narrowband UVB lightbulbs release a smaller range of ultraviolet light. The treatment seems to work more quickly and keep psoriasis flares away for longer. And it often requires fewer treatments per week.
