Types of Hydro Therapy Treatment

1-Steam Bath--A steam bath helps to reduce stress, raise metabolism, lessen pain caused by sports injury, prevents injuries and even symptoms of a cold. Steam cleanses the skin and improves complexion, boosts the immune system, and helps to remove toxins. It also helps to cure diabetes.


2-Sauna Bath--
Sauna baths have been in use since stone age for its hygienic and health values. The baths promote intense sweating which flushes out toxins and disease. Saunas increase blood circulation to the skin, mobilizes fat, increases basal metabolic rate, which helps in reducing weight. It also provides relief from ailments, such as arthritis and spondylosis. The baths help to maintain optimal physical and mental health.

3-Jaccuzzi--In Jaccuzzi, the heat, massage and buoyancy work cohesively and cause deep relaxation, improved sleep. The buoyancy massages and clears the head while heat warms muscles and joints and improves circulation. It also enhances the functions of the heart and lungs.

4-Foot & Arm Bath--The hot foot & arm bath: the attendants ensure that the water is sufficiently and bearably hot for the best results. Warm foot and hand baths help relieve stress and help you feel relaxed, reduce pain and muscle spasms, increase nerve and muscle function, help prevent blood clots, loosen the skin to remove splinters, treat toenail fungus, soothe pain from sprains and bruises, and eases the pain and discomfort of arthritis.


5-Hip Bath--Hip baths help in the treatment of Piles, Indigestion, amoebiasis, constipation Hypertension, Insomnia Stress, general headaches, Sinusitis, Asthma Bronchitis, etc. There are four types of hip baths; Cold, Hot, Neutral, and Alternative Hip Baths.

1-Cold Hip Bath--The hips and abdominal area below the navel is immersed in a special tub filled with water. The water temperature is maintained between 10 degrees to 18 degrees Celsius. It is advised to vigorously rub the region from the navel downwards with a moderately coarse cloth.
The cold hip bath should not be done in severe inflammations of the pelvic, abdominal region and in painful contractions of the bladder, rectum or vagina.

2-Hot Hip Bath--The Hot hip bath begins at 40 degree Celsius and gradually the temperature is increased to 45 degree Celsius. The attendants maintain the temperature and ensure that a cool wet towel is kept on the head.
It is crucial to prevent the patient from catching a chill after the bath. Cold shower is taken after the treatment. If the patient experiences excessive dizziness or pain, the bath is stopped immediately.

Hot hip immersion helps relieve pain experienced in various parts of body like the pelvic organs, menstruation, urination, inflamed bladder or rectum and painful piles. It also benefits painful contractions or spasm of the bladder, enlarged prostatic gland, neuralgia of the ovaries and the bladder and sciatica.

3-Neutral Hip Bath--The temperature is maintained between 32 degree Celsius and 36 degree Celsius. Rubbing of the abdomen is avoided during the bath. The bath is taken usually between 20 minutes to an hour.

The neutral hip bath helps to relieve all semi-acute and acute inflammatory conditions including; acute catarrh of the urethra and bladder, sub-acute inflammations in the uterus, tubes and ovaries. It also relieves neuralgia of the testicles and fallopian tubes, prorates of the vulva and anus, and painful spasms of the vagina. It proves to be a sedative treatment for ‘erotomanis’ in both male and female sex.

4-Alternate Hip Bath--Also known as “revulsive hip bath” alternates hot hip bath with cold hip bath. The hot tub is maintained between 40 degree to 45 degree Celsius and cold between 10 degree and 18 degree Celsius. The attendants ensure that the patients receive the hot bath treatment for 5 minutes, and then the cold for 3 minutes. The period for bath is between 10 to 20 minutes. The temperatures of the head and neck are maintained by cold compresses.

Alternate hip bath helps relieve constant inflammatory conditions of the pelvic viscera, for example, salpingitis, ovaritis, cellulitis and different neuralgias of the sciatica, and lumbago and genito-urinary organs. It also helps relieve pain originating from the abdominal region, cures menstrual and digestive disorders and also renal stones and sciatica treatment.

5-Enema--Waste is build up inside the body with regular consumption of refined and processed foods, high in sugar and fat and low in fibre. The peristalsis becomes weak and may cause constipation and IBS. The food gets stuck to the colon and ferment and decay along the colon making the environment toxic. The environment built inside shows up on the outside and if there is aggravation and irritability on the inside, it will start showing on the outside. Enema relieves constipation, flatulence and indigestion and irritability and aggravation caused due to toxic colon.
